Project Narrative
It turns out that violent video games DO have consequences as Stewart gets killed by a 12 year old online and rage kicks his controller into the ceiling… wackiness ensues and Stella busts through the door to see what all the commotion is.
I gave up playing online PVP games for exactly this reason so there was a lot of method acting going on in the reference video…
The blocking pass was pretty fun… I ended up creating physics simulation in Cinema 4d for the plaster falling down for some added texture.
The instructor felt that there was too much going on in the scene and Stella was cut from the scene in favor of a more simple focus on Stewart. As usual I decided to take it one step further and add in another character at the last minute…
Luckily the Instructor bought off on this and I was off to splining with auto-splines as the first step…
The auto splines were much better than the last shot. Maybe I’m learning a bit more about posing correctly for motion? I’m going with that.
The first spline pass was feeling pretty good…
From here on to the end of the term it was tweaks. Because I started this so late in the term, there were only 3 rounds of changes, but I was able to get to a much cleaner result in a much shorter time thanks to what I learned on the first two projects and here’s the end result…

And just like that, my 3rd course at Animation Mentor is in the can! I’m now on to “Introduction to Acting” where I’ll get to use a full facial rigged character for the first time! I’m excited and nervous for this next step in my journey!
